Job summary

Fusion People is seeking a Volumetric Concrete Mixer Driver / Operator to join its NSW operations team. This hands-on role involves operating and maintaining volumetric concrete mixers across a range of infrastructure projects, with local project work and interstate travel.

You will work day and night shifts, support safety practices, and contribute to high-quality concrete delivery on time. Applicants should hold HC or HR licence and White Card, and be able to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily pre-start inspections and maintenance on volumetric mixers and equipment.
• Operate volumetric concrete mixers safely and efficiently.
• Deliver concrete to customer and project sites.
• Monitor slump tolerances and manage discharge requirements.
• Complete delivery documentation and operational records.
• Communicate effectively with project teams, allocators and customers.
• Undertake calibration activities on mixer units.
• Load materials and assist with yard operations.
• Maintain equipment, vehicles and work areas to a high standard.
• Provide operational feedback to support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Adhere to safety, environmental and quality management requirements.

About the Role

This is a hands-on position that will see you working closely with operational teams to deliver specialist concrete solutions across a variety of infrastructure projects.

You will operate and maintain volumetric concrete mixers while playing an important role in ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

The role offers a mixture of local project work and travel opportunities, with interstate and remote deployments forming part of the position.

Day and night shift work is required, along with occasional weekend work depending on project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

• Conducting daily pre-start inspections and maintenance checks on volumetric mixers and associated equipment
• Operating volumetric concrete mixers safely and efficiently
• Delivering concrete to customer and project sites
• Monitoring slump tolerances and managing concrete discharge requirements
• Completing delivery documentation and operational records
• Communicating effectively with project teams, allocators and customers
• Undertaking calibration activities on volumetric mixer units
• Loading materials and assisting with yard operations
• Maintaining equipment, vehicles and work areas to a high standard

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:

• HC Licence preferred (HR Licence minimum)
• White Card (General Construction Induction)

• Flexibility to work day shifts, night shifts and occasional weekends
• Willingness to travel interstate and work remotely when required

Highly Regarded

The following experience and qualifications will be highly advantageous:

• Previous experience operating volumetric concrete mixers
• Concrete or batching plant experience
• Concrete agitator, concrete truck or heavy vehicle experience
• LE (Excavator) Ticket
• LF (Forklift) Ticket
• Civil construction experience
• Knowledge of concrete batching, mix designs and calibration processes
• Experience working on infrastructure, airport, road or major civil projects
