Job summary

The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is seeking a Compliance Assistant within the DVC International portfolio to support international student recruitment and management compliance. Core duties include assessing GS criteria, compiling data, monitoring trends, and reporting on processes while coordinating with overseas markets.

The successful candidate will hold a relevant degree or equivalent experience, have GS assessment experience, and be proficient in PRISMS, Excel, and Microsoft

  • A degree with relevant experience, and/or an equivalent combination of relevant experience with education/training.
  • Skills and experience in conducting GS assessment and interviews.
  • Familiarity with the regulatory environment for international students in Australia, including the ESOS Act, National Code and SSVF/GS requirements in a university setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in data analysis, identifying emerging trends and reporting.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of international higher education. Strong proficiency using PRISMS and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) with demonstrated proficiency creating and managing Excel spreadsheets.
  • Experience in assessment and processing of student release requests and refunds.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure with constant and concurrent deadlines.
  • Experience in the Australian higher education system and understanding of administrative systems and admission and enrolment processes for international students in a university environment.

About the Role

The Compliance Assistant, located within the DVC International portfolio, contributes towards the university’s international student recruitment and management compliance. Core role duties include:

  • Maximising the sustainability of the international student program.
  • Assessing students against Genuine Student (GS) criteria to ensure that UTS recruits quality students to manage our Simplified Student Visa Framework (SSVF) risk rating and remains competitive in the international market. Compiling and analysing information, monitoring, and reporting on emerging trends and issues relating to GS Processing release requests and refunds for commencing students.
  • Working flexible hours to suit the requirements of overseas markets.
About You

Base Salary Range: $87,295 to $99,865 per annum (HEW 5)

This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.

This position is full time and appointment will be made on a fixed-term basis for a period of up to 12 months (to backfill parental leave). A hybrid work arrangement is available which comprises of working onsite at the UTS Broadway Sydney campus and remote working.
