Job summary

Spinal Life Australia is seeking an experienced Personal Support Worker to join our Brisbane team. You will provide person-centred, high-quality care to clients with complex needs, including mobility assistance, hygiene support, and medication aid as required.

The role offers a casual roster with training and ongoing development. Ideal candidates are nursing students or experienced workers with a driver’s licence, a reliable vehicle, and current clear screens (WWCC, NDIS).

Qualifications

• Completed relevant qualification, or working towards a relevant qualification.
• Current Working with Children and NDIS Worker Screening Card, or willingness to obtain.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle.
• Smartphone device required.
• NDIS Worker Orientation module completed, or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred, high-quality care to clients with complex needs.
• Monitor health conditions and assist with medications.
• Assist with mobility and transfers using hoists, slide boards, and slide sheets.
• Provide care such as ventilation support, PEG feeding, stoma care where required.

Make a Real Difference - Join Us as an Experienced Personal Support Worker

We are seeking student nurses or those experienced and reliable personal support workers to join our team throughout Brisbane and Surrounds.

• Must be able to attend multple days of paid training with your clients
• Great opportunity for Nursing Students or Experience in the Industry
• Those with spinal/paraplegic/quadriplegic experience highly regarded

In this role, you'll provide person-centred, high-quality care to clients with complex needs, including:

• Ventilators, PEG Feeding, Bladder Washout, Stoma Care, Peristeen and Tracheostomy Care
• Personal Care and Hygiene including enemas and suppositories
• Mobility and transfers using hoists, slide boards, and slide sheets
• Monitoring health conditions, checking pressure areas, and assisting with medications.

Your support will make a meaningful difference every day.

What We're Looking For

We want team members that are:

• Available across mornings, afternoons, evenings, sleepovers, active overnights, weekends, and public holidays.
• Experienced in nursing/disability support or currently studying.
• Confident and willing to train in complex care.
• Strong and authentic communicators.
