Job summary

Churches of Christ in Queensland – Bongaree QLD is seeking a Cook to join Bribie Island Aged Care. You will work with our kitchen team to prepare meals for residents, keeping the kitchen safe, clean and running smoothly, while upholding infection control procedures.

The role requires at least one year of experience as a commercial cook in a hygiene-controlled environment, knowledge of texture modified foods, basic computer skills, and good communication.

Qualifications

• Experience as a commercial cook in a hygiene-controlled environment.
• Knowledge of food preparation, cooking processes, and food hygiene.
• Knowledge of texture modified foods.
• Basic computer skills (email/online applications).
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Commitment to safe work practices and quality service.

Responsibilities

• Undertake food handling, meal preparation and cooking duties.
• Maintain a clean kitchen and equipment in line with infection control procedures.
• Complete basic records including meal numbers and fridge/freezer temperatures.
• Liaise with supervisor and suppliers about ordering and stock control.
• Support a culture of safety, teamwork and continuous improvement.
