Job summary

Bupa Aged Care is seeking a Cook for our care home in Sutherland. You will provide well-presented and nutritious meals in a home-like environment, with a strong emphasis on meeting residents' dietary and cultural needs, while supporting kitchen operations and food safety.

The role requires experience in similar settings, good communication, and the ability to work independently. A certificate in commercial cookery is preferred but not essential, with full-time, on-site hours available.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in the preparation and delivery of meals within a similar environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to solve problems independently.
• Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare well balanced and nutritious meals for our residents.
• Liaise with residents, families, and the care team to meet dietary, individual and cultural needs.
• Support the efficient functioning of kitchen and catering services.
• Comply with infection control and food safety procedures.
• Perform administrative duties related to kitchen operations such as stock taking and food quality assessment.
