Cadstruct Recruitment is assisting a well-regarded Sydney builder to recruit a Company Accountant who runs the day-to-day finance function and reports to the CFO.

This is a broad, hands-on role in a small team where your work is directly used to drive decisions. You’ll own month-end close, reporting, payroll, AP/AR, BAS/IAS/PAYG and cashflow forecasting, with project cost reporting integral to the role.

Qualifikationen

• CA or CPA qualified
• Construction industry experience and understanding of progress claims, retentions, WIP and subcontractor payments
• Proven month-end ownership in a standalone or small-team finance function
• Strong payroll and ATO compliance knowledge
• Confident with Excel and construction/job-costing systems
• Ability to work directly with CFO and delivery team without supervision

Aufgaben

• Own the month-end close, management reporting and reconciliations
• Manage AP and AR, payroll, BAS, IAS, PAYG and superannuation lodgements
• Prepare cashflow forecasting and support project cost reporting (WIP, cost-to-complete, claims, retentions)
• Act as point of contact for external accountant and auditor
• Drive process improvements wherever a better method is found

An established Sydney builder with a solid reputation and a steady forward pipeline is looking for a Company Accountant to run the day-to-day finance function, reporting directly to the CFO.

The opportunity

The finance team is small by design, which means this role carries genuine breadth - you’ll be across the whole cycle rather than one slice of it, and the CFO will rely on you for numbers they don’t have to chase. What you’ll do

Own the month-end close, management reporting and reconciliations, and keep the general ledger clean. You’ll manage AP and AR, run payroll, handle BAS, IAS, PAYG and superannuation lodgements, and prepare the cashflow forecasting the business runs on. Project cost reporting is a core part of the role - WIP, cost-to-complete, claims and retentions - so you’ll work closely with the delivery team as well as the CFO. You’ll also be the point of contact for the external accountant and auditor, and you’ll be expected to improve process where you can see a better way.

What you’ll need

• CA or CPA qualified (or well progressed)
