Job summary

City of Moreton Bay is seeking a Local Laws Ranger to support education, investigations and enforcement of local laws across Caboolture and the city. You will engage with residents, investigate issues and apply legislation in a fair, professional manner to protect community safety and amenity.

You will balance education, customer service and enforcement, building positive relationships while handling sensitive information with integrity and sound judgement.

Qualifications

• Experienced compliance professional who can interpret legislation and apply it to investigations.
• Ability to make sound regulatory decisions while balancing education, service and enforcement.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement across diverse communities.

Responsibilities

• Educate and engage with the community on State legislation and Council local laws.
• Investigate complaints and undertake regulatory compliance activities.
• Exercise enforcement powers including issuing infringement notices and impounding animals, vehicles and abandoned goods.
• Patrol streets, parks and public spaces to identify and respond to community concerns.
• Accurately record customer interactions, interviews, investigations and compliance actions.
• Provide practical advice, guidance and customer-focused solutions to the community.
