ATSICHS Brisbane is seeking a General Practitioner to provide high-quality, culturally safe primary health care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in Brisbane and Logan. You will focus on prevention, early intervention, and chronic disease management within a holistic framework that respects Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and doing.

The role requires MBBS or equivalent, AHPRA Specialist registration, and Fellowship of RACGP or ACRRM, with a commitment to culturally safe

Formación

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
• Current registration with AHPRA as a Specialist Medical Practitioner.
• Fellowship of RACGP or ACRRM.
• Experience working in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health or with underserved populations.
• Demonstrated commitment to culturally safe and trauma-informed care.
• Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and health issues.
• Excellent clinical diagnostic and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
• National Police Certificate.
• Driver’s Licence.
• Evidence of Work Rights.
• Professional Indemnity Insurance.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic investigations.
• Develop and implement care plans for patients with chronic conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and respiratory illnesses.
• Deliver care that respects and incorporates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural values and beliefs.
• Work closely with nurses, Aboriginal Health Workers, allied health professionals, and administrative staff.
• Support community outreach initiatives and health screening events (school health checks).
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, including audits, incident investigations etc.
• Maintain professional registration and meet continuing professional development (CPD) requirements.
• Adhere to organisational policies, procedures, and clinical protocols.
