ATSICHS Brisbane is seeking a General Practitioner to provide high-quality, culturally safe primary health care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in Brisbane and Logan. The role focuses on prevention, early intervention, and chronic disease management within a holistic health framework.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, support community outreach, and contribute to quality improvement while upholding organisational policies and CPD requirements.

Competenze

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree and current registration with AHPRA as a Specialist Medical Practitioner.
• Fellowship of RACGP or ACRRM desirable.
• Experience in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health or with underserved populations.

About the Role

As a key member of the ATSICHS Brisbane team, Our ATSICHS General Practitioner is to provide high-quality, culturally safe, comprehensive primary health care services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals and families, with a focus on prevention, early intervention, and chronic disease management. The role supports the holistic health and wellbeing of the community in alignment with Aboriginal ways of knowing, being, and doing.

Duties

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic investigations.
• Develop and implement care plans for patients with chronic conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and respiratory illnesses.
• Deliver care that respects and incorporates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural values and beliefs.
• Work closely with nurses, Aboriginal Health Workers, allied health professionals, and administrative staff.
• Support community outreach initiatives and health screening events (school health checks).
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, including audits, incident investigations etc.
• Maintain professional registration and meet continuing professional development (CPD) requirements.
• Adhere to organisational policies, procedures, and clinical protocols.

• Starting salary of $287,053 + 12% Super.
• Permanent full-time role.
• Salary package up to $15,900 net and add Entertainment Benefits up to $2649 every Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) year.

Required

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
• Current registration with AHPRA as a Specialist Medical Practitioner.

• Demonstrated commitment to culturally safe and trauma-informed care.
• Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and health issues.
• Excellent clinical diagnostic and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
• National Police Certificate.
• Driver’s Licence.
• Evidence of Work Rights.
• Medicare provider Number.
• Professional Indemnity Insurance.

Preferred

• Knowledge of Medicare billing and IUIH System of Care.
• Experience with MMEx.
