Job summary

AHS Nursing Agency is seeking passionate Community/Disability Support Workers for casual shifts in Newcastle and surrounding areas. You will provide high-quality, person-centered care to NDIS clients, assisting with daily living, personal care, transport, and community access.

Applicants should have a full Australian driver's licence, own vehicle, WWCC or willingness to obtain, first aid/CPR, and NDIS Worker Screening. Weekday, weekend, and on-call availability is required.

Qualifications

• Two years minimum experience as a Disability Support Worker.
• Fluent English with strong communication skills.
• Experience with manual handling and high-care tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support to NDIS clients.
• Assist with daily living, personal care, transport and home tasks.
• Support clients at appointments and in social activities.
• Plan outings and accompany clients on activities.

Essential Requirements:

• Must be open to accepting 2-hour services.
• Must be available on weekdays and weekends.
• Full Australian driver's licence and own vehicle.
• Comprehensive car insurance.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check.
• Valid First Aid & CPR certificates.
• Working with Children Check (WWCC) (or willing to obtain, if required).

What We're Looking For:

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Disability Support Worker.
• Fluent English speaker with excellent communication skills.
• Experience with manual handling, high-care support, and challenging behaviours.

• Initiative to support clients in achieving their goals and building community connections.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Provide high-quality, person-centred support to NDIS clients.
• Assist with daily living, personal care, domestic tasks, transport, and community access.
• Support clients attending appointments and engaging in social activities.
• Plan and accompany clients on outings and activities.
• Work across weekdays, weekends, and public holidays (on-call flexibility required).
• Perform Disability Support Worker and Assistant in Nursing (AIN) duties.
