Job summary

HammondCare is seeking a Home Care Worker to support older people in their own homes across the Illawarra region. You will travel between client sites from Dapto to Gerringong, using your own car with paid travel time and kilometres at 0.99 per km.

This casual role runs Tue–Fri mornings, with flexibility to cover varying client needs. Applicants should have a patient, people‑oriented approach, prior aged care experience (or willingness to start), and a valid driver’s licence.

• Previous experience in aged or community care is preferred.
• Valid Driver's Licence and access to a car (insured).
• Certificate III in Aged Care or Individual Support preferred; help offered if not current.

We do! Join HammondCare as a Home Care Worker and be part of an independent, not-for-profit organisation improving the lives of thousands of older people in need.

HammondCare Home Care is currently looking for Carers to join our team in Illawarra region for South region of Illawarra on a casual basis.

The successful applicant will be travelling from Dapto to Gerringong. The applicants must be able to work Tuesday to Friday 7am to 4 pm or 7am to 2 pm .

About the role

You'll provide essential, practical care for older people, supporting them to live independently in their own homes and genuinely improving their quality of life. This includes not only day-to-day care but also building meaningful relationships and offering companionship. The role requires travel to clients' homes using your own car (you'll be paid $0.99 per km plus paid travel time).

About you

• you're a people-person who is patient and solutions-focused
• you have previous experience in aged or community care, or are looking to start your career in aged care
• you have a valid Driver's Licence and access to an insured, reliable car (min. Third Party Property Insurance)
• ideally, you'll have a Certificate III in Aged Care or Individual Support. If you're not currently qualified and would like to be, then we can help
• you'll be flexible around meeting the changing needs of home care clients
