Job summary

HumanAbility is seeking a Communications Coordinator to join our team on a full-time basis, with a hybrid working model and travel as required. You will support the creation and delivery of communications about our projects and work, and collaborate with the Senior Communications Advisor and other team members.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism or similar or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• Experience working in a Communications team, preferably within a not-for-profit or government sector.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency in content management systems, social media platforms and Monday.com (or similar).
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan and create content for HumanAbility’s communications channels, including social, digital and newsletters
• Translate complex technical, policy and workforce content into plain English that suits the target audience
• Draft communication materials with clarity, accuracy, and consistency
• Ensure all content is accessible and appropriate for diverse audiences, including industry stakeholders and the public
• Work closely with other teams as directed to align communications across our sectors
• Assist in the development or commissioning of multimedia content, including videos and graphics, as required
• Observe and followwork health, safety and wellbeing policies and guidelines
