Job summary

Birdon is seeking a Commissioning Engineer and Field Service Representative for its Port Macquarie shipyard, a Full-Time role located on the Hastings River. You will lead commissioning activities, verify platform tests, and support design and integration tasks within a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities include developing test procedures, coordinating with authorities and suppliers, and creating commissioning records.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership abilities with stakeholders.
• Familiarity with design software, simulation tools, and project management methodologies.
• Proactive with commercial aptitude and interpersonal skills.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office software.
• 5 years experience in field representation as primary technical point of contact.

Responsibilities

• Examine customer requirements and support development and integration.
• Create and review test procedures to verify compliance.
• Collaborate with authorities and suppliers to approve test plans.
• Develop contract deliverables in engineering and verification.
• Trace, track and verify requirements.
• Review designs and installation procedures.
• Collaborate with design leads on surveillance points.
• Create commissioning plans and procedures.
• Coordinate with production and project teams on sequencing.
• Support test and trials as interface between Engineering, Project and Production.
• Promote quality, environment and safety in the workplace.
• Contribute to the growth of the business.
