Job summary

Southport Sharks is seeking a Commis Chef to join the kitchen team on a casual basis. Benefits include Free Health Club Membership, Food & Beverage Discounts, and Free Parking.

You're expected to work in a busy venue with a skilled team, maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation, and contribute creatively to menu items. Training of junior staff and strict hygiene practices are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Qualified with a minimum Cert IV in Commercial Cookery.

Responsibilities

• Work in a busy venue with a highly skilled team.
• Maintain sharp attention to detail in food prep.
• Ensure that food standards, preparation, presentation and cooking techniques are carried out according to established recipes and standards.
• Utilise your creative expertise in cookery to produce high quality meals for customers.
• Assist in the training of other chefs/apprentices/trainees to encourage excellent quality and production of menu items.
• Monitor food quality and ensure policies and hygiene standards are maintained, reporting any deviations to the Head Chef.
• Promote safe work practices in the kitchen.
• Liaise with Sous Chef, Chef D'Partie, Executive Chef regarding workflow requirements.
