JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa is seeking a proactive Commis Chef to join our luxury kitchen team on a full-time or part-time basis. You will report to the Executive Chef and contribute to high-quality meals for our luxury guests, assisting in prep, cooking and plating in a fast-paced environment.

Successful candidates have a passion for food, strong teamwork, and solid food safety knowledge. This role offers career development within a premier Marriott property on the Gold Coast.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar environment is favorable.
• Strong food safety knowledge and hygiene practices.
• Great communication skills and teamwork ability.
• Passion for food and desire to grow your culinary career.

Responsibilities

• Assist during busy periods to the Chef to ensure service quality.
• Check appliance and food temperatures for safety and quality.
• Prepare ingredients, portioning, chopping and storing as needed.
• Wash, peel and prep fruits/vegetables; sanitize work areas and tools.
• Set up, clean and break down the workstation; cook and plate as required.
