Job summary

ibis Styles Brisbane Elizabeth Street is seeking a passionate and reliable Commis Chef to join our energetic kitchen team. The role involves preparing and presenting high-quality dishes across breakfast buffet, à la carte lunch and dinner and conference catering.

Working within a team of four chefs, you will support daily operations, maintain hygiene, manage mise en place and uphold food safety standards. Flexible weekends and public holidays, with opportunities for growth within Accor

Qualifications

• Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience.
• Strong teamwork and flexibility with guest-focused service.
• Ability to deliver consistent high-quality food under pressure.
• Energetic, proactive and a team player with good communication.
• Flexible availability to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present high-quality dishes across breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner.
• Support daily kitchen operations in a team of four chefs.
• Maintain hygiene and adhere to food safety standards.
• Follow stock rotation and assist with stock control.
• Report equipment issues to the Executive Chef.
