ibis Styles Brisbane Elizabeth Street is seeking a passionate and reliable Full-time Demi Chef to join our energetic kitchen team in the Brisbane CBD.

Prepare high-quality dishes across breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner and conference catering; support daily operations; maintain hygiene and mise en place; follow stock control and food safety standards; contribute to a positive, collaborative kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience.
• Hotel kitchen experience preferred.
• Detail-focused and able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present high-quality dishes across breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner plus conference catering.
• Support daily operations and work independently when needed.
• Maintain a clean, hygienic work environment and ready mise en place.
• Uphold food safety standards in line with regulations.
• Follow stock rotation procedures and assist with stock control.
• Care for equipment and report issues to the Executive Chef.
• Foster a positive, collaborative kitchen environment.

Job Description

ibis Styles Brisbane Elizabeth Street is seeking a passionate and reliable Full-time Demi Chef to join our energetic kitchen team.

• The role involves preparing and presenting high-quality dishes across breakfast buffet, à la carte lunch and dinner and conference catering.
• You will support daily operations and take initiative when working independently.
• Responsibilities include maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment, ensuring mise en place is readyfor buffet,à la carte and event service.
• Upholdfood safety standards in line with current regulations.
• You’ll be expected to follow strict stock rotation procedures, minimise wastage, and assist with stock control.
• Equipment care and cleanliness are essential, with any issues reported to the Executive Chef.
• Support a positive,collaborative and engaging kitchen environment.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will hold a Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience, and show strong teamwork, flexibility, and a commitment to delivering memorable guest experiences aligned with the ibis Styles brand.

• Experience in a similar role, preferably within a hotel environment.
• Detail-focused with the ability to deliver consistently high-quality food under pressure
• Energetic and proactive with enthusiasm to develop your culinary expertise
• A team player who easily builds rapport with colleagues and guests alike
• Time management skills with the ability to multitask
• Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with all levels of team members
• Flexible availability to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
