Job summary

ibis Styles Brisbane Elizabeth Street is seeking a passionate and reliable Full-time Demi Chef to join our energetic kitchen team. You will prepare and present high-quality dishes across breakfast buffet, à la carte lunch and dinner and conference catering.

Uphold food safety standards, support daily operations, and maintain a clean, well-organised workspace while working a rotating roster that includes weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Detail-focused with the ability to deliver consistently high-quality food under pressure.
• Trade qualification in Cookery and relevant hotel kitchen experience.
• Energetic, proactive and eager to develop culinary expertise.
• Team player with rapport-building skills and guest interaction.
• Willing to work a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present dishes across breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner.
• Support daily operations and work independently when needed.
• Maintain hygiene and mise en place for all meal services.
• Uphold food safety standards in line with regulations.
• Rotate stock to minimise wastage and assist with stock control.
• Care for equipment and report issues to the Executive Chef.
• Foster a positive, collaborative kitchen environment.

ibis Styles Brisbane Elizabeth Street is seeking a passionate and reliable Full-time Demi Chef to join our energetic kitchen team.

• The role involves preparing and presenting high-quality dishes across breakfast buffet, à la carte lunch and dinner and conference catering.
• You will support daily operations and take initiative when working independently.
• Responsibilities include maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment, ensuring mise en place is ready for buffet, à la carte and event service.
• Uphold food safety standards in line with current regulations.
• You’ll be expected to follow strict stock rotation procedures, minimise wastage, and assist with stock control.
• Equipment care and cleanliness are essential, with any issues reported to the Executive Chef.
• Support a positive, collaborative and engaging kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Full Australian Working Rights - this role is not available for sponsorship
• Trade qualification in Cookery
• Experience in a similar role, preferably within a hotel environment.
• Detail-focused with the ability to deliver consistently high-quality food under pressure
• Energetic and proactive with enthusiasm to develop your culinary expertise
• A team player who easily builds rapport with colleagues and guests alike
• Time management skills with the ability to multitask
• Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with all levels of team members
• Flexible availability to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
