Mantra MacArthur Hotel, part of Accor, located near Canberra's CBD, is seeking a Commis Chef to learn from our senior chefs and fuel your passion for food. You will work across a busy kitchen, ensuring dishes meet standards with quality and speed, while following HACCP guidelines and health and safety rules.

Qualifications

• Recognised culinary training and employment experience.
• Commercial cookery certification; safe food handling or food safety supervisor.

• Open to feedback and willing to experiment with new ideas.
• Thriving in a fast-paced team environment.
• Clear and articulate communication.
• Flexible shifts including mornings, late evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Ensure food meets property standards and is served within designated timeframes with high quality and presentation.
• Adhere to health, safety, and compliance regulations with HACCP knowledge.
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and efficiency in preparing food items.
• Receive training and guidance from senior chefs.
• Handle a range of kitchen tasks from dishwashing to crafting dishes.
