Job summary

ibis Mackay, part of Accor, invites a passionate Commis Chef to join our culinary team in tropical North Queensland. Working in a fast-paced kitchen serving TurBARlence Tavern, room service and conferences, you’ll help deliver high-quality guest experiences.

Ideal candidates bring previous chef experience, cookery qualifications, and a solid knowledge of food safety. Availability for early mornings, weekends and public holidays is required; immediate start preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous chef experience.
• Relevant cookery or trade qualifications.
• Experience in a busy, high-volume kitchen.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene and HACCP.
• Available across early mornings, weekends and public holidays.
• Full working rights in Australia.
• Immediate start (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Maintain consistent food quality, presentation and portion control.
• Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage.
• Prepare and ensure availability of mis en place as required.
• Follow all hotel and kitchen policies, procedures and standards.
• Provide accurate menu and allergen information to the Food and Beverage team when required.
• Keeps all working areas clean and tidy.
• Be familiar with other areas in the Kitchen so when called upon, assistance can be provided.
