Job summary

ibis Mackay, part of Accor, invites a passionate Commis Chef to join our TurBARlence Tavern and conference kitchen. In a fast-paced, high-volume setting, you will help deliver high-quality dishes and maintain food safety standards.

You should have previous chef experience, relevant cookery qualifications, and full working rights in Australia. Availability across early mornings, weekends and public holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Previous chef experience.
• Relevant cookery or trade qualifications.
• Experience in a busy, high-volume kitchen.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene and HACCP.
• Positive, flexible and able to work well under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail and consistent food quality.
• Available across early mornings, weekends and public holidays.
• Full working rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Maintain consistent food quality, presentation and portion control.
• Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage.
• Prepare and ensure availability of mise en place as required.
• Follow all hotel and kitchen policies, procedures and standards.
• Provide accurate menu and allergen information to the Food and Beverage team when required.
• Keeps all working areas clean and tidy.
• Be familiar with other areas in the Kitchen so when called upon, assistance can be provided.
