Job summary

Crowne Plaza Hawkesbury Valley (Windsor NSW) is hiring a Commis Chef. We welcome full-time, part-time and casual applicants who are passionate about presentation, flavour and high standards from kitchen to table.

You will work in a beautiful hotel setting near the Hawkesbury River, with opportunities to grow within IHG properties globally and take advantage of staff discounts. A strong emphasis on teamwork, cleanliness and HACCP compliance is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy kitchen environment; hotel experience advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent teamwork.
• Knowledge of HACCP procedures and food hygiene.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• Must meet local employment requirements and legal working age.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and plate meals with a focus on presentation and flavour.
• Own and manage your workstation; monitor supplies and waste.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness to meet hygiene laws.
• Assist with washing up and other kitchen duties as needed.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

• Making every single meal a feast for the eyes and treat for the tastebuds
• Taking ownership for your workstation – keeping on top of supplies, equipment and waste
• Being cleaner than clean to meet or exceed local cleanliness and hygiene laws
• Helping with washing up and other kitchen duties where needed

What We need from you:

• Compliance with local laws on food handling – you’ll need to be above the minimum age required and fluent in the local language
• Previous experience in a busy kitchen environment, Hotel experience would be advantageous
• Possess great attention to detail
• Exceptional teamwork skills
• A working knowledge and understanding of HACCPprocedures
• High standard of personal presentation
• Ongoing commitment to quality and providing a truly unique experience to our guests
• The flexibility to work various shifts on a rotating roster including evenings, weekends and public holidays
• You must meet the legal requirements to work in this country
