Job summary

Fortis Talent is assisting an established commercial construction business in Sydney to hire a dedicated Business Development professional for the Projects division. You will build relationships with building owners, facilities teams and consultants, identify opportunities early, and position the company before tenders are issued.

You will report to the General Manager and play a key role in expanding the pipeline, leveraging existing repeat business, and opening new doors across the market.

Qualifications

• Proven business development experience within construction, property or a closely related market.
• An established network across building owners, facilities teams, asset managers and property consultants.
• A track record of turning relationships into genuine project opportunities.
• Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of the construction lifecycle.
• Confidence engaging with senior decision-makers.
• A natural, relationship-driven approach to business development.
• Strong networking, communication and presentation skills.
• The ability to work autonomously while remaining closely connected with operational and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute business development initiatives for the Projects division.
• Build and strengthen relationships across the commercial property and construction market.
• Develop networks with building owners, facilities teams, asset managers, agents, tenant reps and consultants.
• Identify upcoming projects and opportunities before they formally enter the market.
• Support client engagement throughout the tender and pre-construction process.
• Represent the business at meetings, industry events and networking opportunities.
