Job summary

Insight Building Services is seeking an experienced carpenter for a hands-on role in commercial construction across Newcastle region. You will lead by example on site, mentor apprentices, coordinate with site supervisors and subcontractors, and take ownership to ensure high quality outcomes.

The role emphasizes practical leadership from the tools, strong workmanship, safety and site presentation across fitouts, refurbishment, and general building works.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent trade qualification.
• Experience working on commercial construction, fitout or refurbishment projects.
• Strong all-round carpentry skills and a high standard of workmanship.
• The ability to read drawings and work independently.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with or mentoring apprentices.
• The confidence to coordinate other workers and subcontractors when required.
• A strong work ethic and a positive, practical attitude.
• Current driver’s licence.

Day to day, the role will involve:
