Job summary

Sharp and Carter is seeking a Commercial Analyst to join the finance team on a long-term contract in Sydney. You will drive detailed sales analysis, forecasting, and business partnering across operations and leadership to sharpen commercial performance.

The ideal candidate is CA/CPA qualified with FMCG/consumer goods experience, strong Excel and ERP/BI capabilities, and a proactive, data-driven mindset. Immediate availability or 1–2 weeks is preferred; the role offers a hybrid work arrangement

Qualifications

• CA/CPA qualification required.
• Experience in commercial finance, FP&A or commercial analysis in FMCG/consumer goods.
• Advanced Excel and ERP/BI systems experience.
• Ability to work with large datasets and translate data into insights.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and business partnering skills.
• Available immediately or with 1–2 weeks' notice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver detailed sales, margin, and profitability analysis across business units and product lines.
• Analyze large datasets to provide actionable commercial insights and performance recommendations.
• Partner with sales, operations, supply chain, and senior leadership teams.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
• Develop financial models, dashboards and reporting tools to improve visibility.
• Identify trends, risks and opportunities to drive growth and efficiency.
• Assist in driving continuous improvement across reporting, systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Strong stakeholder engagement and business partnering capability
• Commercially astute with a proactive and analytical mindset
