Sharp & Carter is seeking a Commercial Analyst to join our expanding FMCG team in Sydney. You will work with Sales, Marketing and Finance to analyse performance, identify opportunities, and help drive informed commercial decisions.

This hands-on role suits someone with a strong analytical mindset, 2–4 years FP&A/Commercial experience, and a desire to develop cross-functional finance and commercial skills in a fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

  • CA/CPA qualified or studying toward qualification or equivalent commercial/finance experience.
  • 2–4 years' experience in a Commercial Analyst, FP&A, Management Accounting or similar role.
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial models and large datasets.
  • Experience with financial modelling, forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn data into clear commercial insights.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across the business.
  • Commercially minded with an interest in understanding what drives sales, margins and profitability.
  • Hands-on, proactive approach and willingness to get involved across different areas of the business.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and growing environment.
  • FMCG, retail or consumer goods experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse international markets, competitors, consumer trends and category performance to identify opportunities and challenges.
  • Research international health, wellness and beauty categories including market size, value, performance and market share.
  • Support analysis of customer and distributor landscapes to identify routes to market.
  • Assist with developing customer-specific pricing and promotional strategies.
  • Support development of customer propositions and presentations for retail partners.
  • Coordinate industry and customer events across the UK and European markets.
  • Provide customers with ongoing support and information on the portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain financial models and P&Ls for assigned markets and customers.
  • Assist with sales, cost and profitability forecasting and reporting.
  • Conduct financial and cost-benefit analysis to support new opportunities.
  • Monitor exchange rates, taxes and other market factors impacting profitability.
  • Prepare regular reporting and variance analysis against budget/forecast.
  • Support customer onboarding, portfolio setup and SKU commercialization with partners.
  • Develop and maintain customer and portfolio supply forecasts.
  • Work with internal teams and third-party supply partners to ensure inventory flow.
  • Identify and manage potential supply chain risks.
  • Prepare presentations and analyses for senior management and leadership.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Operations and Finance on key initiatives.

About the Role

A growing FMCG company is looking for a Commercial Analyst to join the team and work closely with Sales, Marketing and Finance to support the continued growth of the business. Reporting to the Commercial/Finance lead, you will play a key role in analysing business performance, supporting customer and market opportunities, and helping the team make informed commercial decisions.
