Sharp & Carter is seeking a Commercial Analyst for a leading FMCG business in Sydney to join the finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role focuses on detailed sales analysis, forecasting, and business partnering across operations and leadership to drive performance.

The ideal candidate is CA/CPA qualified, proficient with large datasets, advanced Excel, and ERP/BI systems, with strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to translate data into strategic insights.

Responsibilities

• Deliver detailed sales, margin, and profitability analysis across units and products
• Analyse large datasets to provide actionable commercial insights
• Partner with sales, operations, supply chain and leadership
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes
• Develop financial models, dashboards and reporting tools to improve visibility
• Identify trends to drive growth and efficiencies
• Assist in continuous improvement of reporting, systems and processes

This position will play a key role in driving business performance through detailed sales analysis, strategic insights, forecasting, and business partnering across operations and leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver detailed sales, margin, and profitability analysis across multiple business units and product lines
• Analyse large and complex datasets to provide actionable commercial insights and performance recommendations
• Partner closely with sales, operations, supply chain, and senior leadership teams
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
• Develop financial models, dashboards, and reporting tools to improve visibility and performance tracking
• Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to drive business growth and operational efficiencies
• Assist in driving continuous improvement initiatives across reporting, systems, and processes

About You

• CA/CPA qualified
• Strong experience within commercial finance, FP&A, or commercial analysis roles in an FMCG or consumer goods environment
• Advanced Excel and strong ERP/BI systems experience
• Proven ability to work with large datasets and translate data into meaningful business insights
• Strong stakeholder engagement and business partnering capability
• Commercially astute with a proactive and analytical mindset
• Immediately Available or 1-2 weeks notice
