Job summary

A rapidly growing Australian distributor of consumer electronics is seeking a Commercial Analyst to own rebate management, product profitability and overall commercial analysis across Australia and New Zealand. You will work closely with the business owners and finance team to deliver actionable insights that support pricing decisions, improve margins and strengthen commercial performance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in commercial or financial analysis.
• CA, CPA, CIMA or CFA qualified.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics or related discipline.
• Experience managing rebates and trading terms.
• Experience analysing SKU-level costings, margins and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Manage supplier and customer rebates, including calculations, reconciliations and accruals.
• Analyse rebate structures and trading terms to improve profitability.
• Maintain SKU-level costings, landed costs and product margins.
• Analyse pricing, promotions and profitability to support commercial decisions.
• Prepare monthly commercial reports and performance commentary.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Develop financial models and reporting tools to improve commercial insights.
• Partner with Sales, Operations and Supply Chain on commercial decisions.
• Improve data accuracy, automate reporting and streamline processes.

About the Role

I am working with a rapidly growing Australian distributor of consumer electronics to find a Commercial Analyst. The business operates across Australia and New Zealand, working with global brands and major retailers, and has grown tenfold in recent years.

This newly created role offers an opportunity to take ownership of rebate management, product profitability and commercial analysis. Working closely with the business owners and finance team, you will provide financial insights to support pricing decisions, improve margins and strengthen commercial performance.

The position requires strong analytical skills, commercial judgement and the ability to identify opportunities for improvement across systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Experience analysing SKU-level costings, product margins and profitability.
• Experience in distribution, wholesale, retail or FMCG preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling and analysis of complex datasets.
• Strong analytical skills, commercial judgement and attention to detail.
