Job summary

seek.com.au is seeking a Commercial Analyst to join its finance team in Melbourne. The role focuses on improving management reporting, pricing analysis and providing commercial insights across a multi-site operation.

Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager, you will develop financial models, dashboards and present insights to senior stakeholders. A hybrid work arrangement in Melbourne’s inner suburbs supports work-life flexibility.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related discipline.
• CA or CPA qualification, or progressing towards completion.
• Experience in commercial finance, management accounting, FP&A or a similarly analytical role.
• Strong systems experience, with SAP highly regarded.
• Exposure to product-based, retail, wholesale, distribution or supply chain environments would be advantageous.
• The ability to interpret complex data and communicate meaningful commercial insights
• Confidence engaging with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
• A proactive and improvement-focused mindset with strong attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Enhancing management reporting and dashboards to provide greater visibility of business performance
• Analysing pricing, margins, customer activity and operating costs to identify trends and opportunities
• Reviewing freight performance and supporting initiatives to improve cost recovery
• Developing financial models and analytical tools to support commercial decisions
• Translating financial and operational data into clear insights for senior stakeholders
• Supporting regular business reporting and working closely with the broader finance team
• Contributing to commercial projects, including pricing reviews, profitability analysis and cost improvement initiatives
• Identifying opportunities to improve the accuracy, efficiency and consistency of reporting
