Job summary

Capture Recruitment lists an experienced CNC Laser Machine Operator and Welder to join a long-standing Australian metal manufacturer in Sunshine. The role focuses on CNC laser cutting and brake press operation, with welding and fabrication duties as part of daily tasks.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on CNC experience, the ability to read drawings, and a can-do attitude for demanding fabrication work. Day shifts, steady overtime, and on-site training are offered within a supportive production

Qualifications

• Proven experience with CNC laser cutting.
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience with welding and basic fabrication tasks is preferred.
• Valid Australian work rights and driver’s license are required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machinery.
• Set up and operate CNC brake press machinery.
• Read technical drawings and check components against tolerances.
• Perform MIG welding and fabrication as required.
• Monitor production, identify faults and perform basic inspections.

Job description

Our client, an established Australian metal manufacturing business is seeking an experienced CNC Laser Machine Operator and Welder to join its production team in Sunshine. This position has a strong focus on CNC laser cutting and CNC brake press operation, supported by welding and general fabrication duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machinery
• Set up and operate CNC brake press machinery
• Select programs, tooling and machine settings according to job requirements
• Read technical drawings and check completed components against required tolerances
• Complete MIG welding, second class welding, fabrication, grinding and finishing duties
• Monitor production, identify faults and complete basic machine inspections and adjustments

Skills and Experience

• Practical CNC laser cutting experience
• CNC brake press or metal forming experience
• Experience within metal manufacturing, engineering or fabrication
• Ability to read technical drawings and manufacturing specifications
• Australian driver’s licence, reliable transport and valid Australian work rights
