Job summary

Ampstek is seeking an experienced Cloud Network Architect to design, develop, and govern secure, scalable cloud and hybrid network architectures for enterprise environments.

Role focuses on defining standards, roadmaps, and connectivity across AWS, Azure and GCP, with emphasis on security, resilience and cost optimization. Contract role with 12+ months extendable, Sydney-based.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in IT overall, 5+ years in cloud/network architecture.
• Experience designing enterprise cloud, hybrid-cloud and multi-cloud network architectures.
• Strong knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP) and IP addressing strategies.

Responsibilities

• Design enterprise cloud, hybrid-cloud and multi-cloud network architectures.
• Define network architecture standards and roadmaps.
• Design connectivity between cloud environments, data centres and on-premises infrastructure.
• Architect and review AWS VPC, Azure VNet and GCP VPC environments.
• Design cloud connectivity solutions such as AWS Direct Connect and Site-to-Site VPN.
• Develop network segmentation and security controls; implement firewalls and WAF.
• Support SD-WAN, SASE and Zero Trust architectures.
• Provide technical leadership during implementation and production transition.
• Collaborate with clients, vendors and stakeholders to gather requirements and present solutions.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Network Architect to design, develop, and govern secure, scalable, highly available cloud and hybrid network architectures for enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop enterprise cloud, hybrid-cloud and multi-cloud network architectures.
• Define network architecture standards, patterns, and technology roadmaps.
• Design connectivity between cloud environments, data centres, branch offices, and on-premises infrastructure.
• Architect and review AWS VPC, Azure VNet and GCP VPC environments.
• Design cloud connectivity solutions including:
• AWS Direct Connect
• Site-to-Site VPN
• Design routing and traffic-flow architectures using BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, VRF and VLANs.
• Develop secure network segmentation and isolation strategies.
• Design and integrate firewalls, WAF, load balancers, proxies and network security controls.
• Support SD-WAN, SASE and Zero Trust network architectures.
• Define IP addressing, subnetting, DNS, DHCP and IPAM strategies.
• Develop High-Level Design (HLD), Low-Level Design (LLD), network diagrams and architecture documentation.
• Conduct technical assessments, design reviews, capacity planning and network optimization.
• Review existing infrastructure and recommend modernization and cloud migration strategies.
• Work with security teams to ensure network designs meet security, compliance and governance requirements.
• Provide technical leadership during implementation, migration, testing and production transition.
• Troubleshoot complex network architecture and connectivity issues and provide guidance to engineering teams.
• Work closely with clients, vendors, architects and senior stakeholders to gather requirements and present technical solutions.
• Ensure solutions meet requirements for availability, scalability, performance, resilience and cost optimization.
