Job summary

Pearson Carter is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure in AWS and Azure. You will architect secure networks, configure firewalls, and maintain IaC with CDK/TypeScript while monitoring performance and security.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with AWS and/or Azure.
• Hands-on experience with cloud networking concepts (VPC/VNets, subnets, routing).
• Experience with configuring firewalls and security controls (Palo Alto, AWS Security Groups, NSGs).
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools and CI/CD tooling.

Job description

What will you be engaged in?

As a Cloud Engineer, you will:

• Designing, deploying and managing cloud infrastructure in AWS and Azure environments.
• Architecting and implementing secure network solutions, including VPCs/VNets, subnets, routing and connectivity.
• Configuration and management of Palo Alto Firewalls, network security groups and security controls.
• Maintaining and extending existing Infrastructure-as-Code (AWS CDK, TypeScript), proposing improvements through standard review processes.
• Monitoring system performance, availability, and security using cloud-native and third-party tools.
• Support cloud migration strategies and hybrid cloud architecture.
• Designing and maintaining secure connectivity (VPN, site-to-site, client VPN, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute).
• Maintaining infrastructure supporting CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions runners, cloud environments, deployment targets).
• Supporting vulnerability response processes and remediation timelines.
• Troubleshooting and resolving cloud, network, and firewall-related issues.
• Support deployment infrastructure for web applications and on-premises software distribution.

What We Are Looking For

Essential Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
• 5 years of experience working with AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms.
• Proven hands-on experience with cloud networking concepts (VPC, VNets, subnets, routing tables, DNS).
• Experience configuring and managing firewalls and security controls (Palo Alto, AWS Security Groups, NACLs, Azure NSGs, Azure Firewall, etc.).
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Experience in designing secure network connectivity (VPNs, private endpoints, hybrid networking).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).

Preferred

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect and/or Microsoft Azure Administrator/Architect certifications.
• Experience with advanced networking and security architectures (zero trust, segmentation, private networking).
• Experience in multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments
