Job summary

Respect in Inverell is seeking a Clinical Quality & Compliance Coordinator to lead governance, quality improvement and compliance across the residential aged care setting. The role supports safe, person-centred care under the General Manager and Care Manager, mentoring nursing staff and ensuring documentation meets required standards.

Applicants should hold an unrestricted Nursing registration, substantial experience in aged care, with strong assessment, documentation and regulatory knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Nursing is required.
• Current AHPRA registration.
• Experience in residential aged care.
• Knowledge of Aged Care Quality Standards.

Responsibilities

• Monitor clinical care against best practice, legislation and standards.
• Conduct clinical audits across care plans, medication, wounds, falls and behaviours.

About The Opportunity:

Are you an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in clinical governance, quality and compliance?

Respect is seeking a Clinical Quality & Compliance Coordinator to join the team at Killean Residential Aged Care in Inverell, New South Wales.

This is a senior Registered Nurse position focused on supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality and person-centred care through strong clinical governance, continuous improvement and compliance practices. The role works under the direction of the General Manager and Care Manager and collaborates closely with the broader clinical team.

You will have the opportunity to maintain a strong clinical focus while supporting resident outcomes through clinical oversight, quality and risk management, staff capability and ensuring care systems and documentation meet the required standards.

About The Role:

• Monitoring and evaluating clinical care against best practice, legislation and organisational standards
• Conducting clinical audits across care plans, progress notes, medication, wounds, falls and behaviours
• Identifying gaps in care and supporting improvement strategies
• Monitoring quality indicators and clinical outcomes
• Reviewing resident clinical records and supporting complex clinical assessments
• Monitoring high-risk residents and clinical deterioration
• Supporting compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards and regulatory requirements
• Maintaining audit and accreditation readiness
• Supporting clinical incident investigations and preventative strategies
• Providing clinical guidance and mentorship to nursing and care staff
• Improving documentation, clinical practice and staff capability
• Monitoring clinical systems, overdue tasks, alerts and data integrity.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Bachelor of Nursing
• Current AHPRA registration
• Demonstrated experience in residential aged care
• Advanced clinical knowledge and assessment skills
• Strong understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards
• Experience in clinical governance, audits and quality improvement
• High-level documentation and clinical review skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal capability
• Confidence using Microsoft applications and clinical software systems.
• Experience in accreditation or audit processes, clinical education or mentoring, incident investigation and risk management will be highly regarded.
