Job summary

The University of Sydney is seeking a Senior Education Support Officer (Clinical) to lead the Central Clinical School Education Support Team and oversee delivery of the Sydney Medical School MD program. Based primarily at the Susan Wakil Health Building with a minimum of four days on site each week, you will coordinate complex teaching operations and drive service improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering high-quality education support services within a complex organisation (tertiary education/health).
• Experience supervising, mentoring and developing staff, including performance management.
• Knowledge of university administrative processes, policies and procedures in a tertiary environment.
• Experience using learning management systems and understanding timetabling and scheduling student activities.
• Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills under pressure.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with initiative and sound judgement.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 and using technology to improve efficiency.
• Experience troubleshooting audiovisual and IT issues (Zoom/MS Teams).
• Commitment to continuous improvement and service excellence.
• Willingness to move regularly across campus to support teaching activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead, plan and manage the Central Clinical School Education Support Team with supervision, coaching and performance management.
• Coordinate and deliver operational support for clinical teaching activities, including assessments and examinations.
• Oversee complex timetabling and scheduling with clear communication to students and staff.
• Provide high-level administrative support to Education leadership and build cross-unit relationships.
• Support staff development through performance reviews and professional development planning.
• Contribute to curriculum development and service improvement initiatives.
• Support policy implementation and compliance with university procedures.
• Identify operational challenges and implement practical, service-focused solutions.
