Job summary

Norwest Private Hospital in Bella Vista, part of Healthscope, is seeking an experienced Clinical Coder to join our Health Information Services team. The role is onsite at our Bella Vista campus with flexible casual or part-time hours to fit your lifestyle.

You will code inpatient episodes, abstract and assign diagnostic and procedural codes, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. Experience in an acute hospital setting and HIMAA Certification are essential, with Codefinder,

Qualifications

• HIMAA Certification in Clinical Coding (or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years' clinical coding experience within an acute hospital setting.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Working knowledge of Codefinder and Turbocoder.
• Understanding of private hospital funding models.
• Experience using the WebPAS patient information system.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Norwest Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Clinical Coder to join our dedicated Health Information Services team.

As a paper-based hospital, this role is based onsite at our Bella Vista campus. Working independently while collaborating with key stakeholders, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely clinical coding of inpatient episodes and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
