Job summary

Journey Connect is seeking a Behaviour Support Practitioner to work with children, adolescents and adults with complex needs in Townsville. The role focuses on assessment, formulation and intervention within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

You will develop and implement Functional Behaviour Assessments, PBSPs, and risk management plans while coaching families and schools. A degree in a relevant field and NDIS clearances are required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a degree in a relevant field (Psychology, OT, Speech Pathology, Social Work or Education).
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance and Orientation Module completed.
• Strong communication skills and collaborative approach with families and teams.

Responsibilities

• Face-to-face assessment to understand the person, environment and situation.
• Complete Functional Behaviour Assessments.
• Build Interim and Comprehensive Positive Behaviour Support Plans.
• Understand and plan risk management.
• Develop communication, emotional regulation and independence skills.
• Coach families, schools and support teams.
• Collaborative multidisciplinary intervention.
• Work to reduce restrictive practices.
