Job summary

Austral Facility Services (AFS) is seeking a Site Supervisor – Cleaning to manage day-to-day cleaning operations at a warehouse distribution centre. You will oversee staff, schedule rosters, and liaise with the client and site manager to ensure high-quality service and compliance with WHS standards.

Responsibilities include staff coaching, performance management, site inspections, budget adherence, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role within the cleaning industry.

Job description

The Site Supervisor – Cleaning is responsible for managing the day-to-day cleaning operations of the site, supervising and coordinating cleaning staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality cleaning services within warehouse distribution centres (industrial facilities). The role involves maintaining strong relationships with clients and worksite managers, and ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety standards, including HACCP principles where applicable. The Cleaning Site Supervisor will support the direct line manager by ensuring site cleaning operations meet performance, quality, and budget requirements. The role also requires the completion of various site-specific training modules prescribed by the client and will have additional compliance requirements depending on the warehouse functions, ie food safety aspects.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee cleaning staff to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.
• Develop, train, and coach cleaning staff to meet performance and safety standards.
• Manage staff performance and disciplinary matters, escalating issues as required.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Manage rosters, timesheets, and staff changes to maintain optimal staffing levels.
• Act as the primary point of contact for the client and worksite manager, maintaining strong and positive relationships.
• Address client concerns or complaints promptly and effectively, ensuring client satisfaction.
• Implement and monitor site-specific cleaning schedules and processes in line with the agreed services of works.
• Ensure site operations adhere to budgetary guidelines, including managing overtime and direct labour ratios.
• Maintain accurate records, including equipment maintenance, QA checks, and WHS documentation.

About you

• Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role within the commercial cleaning industry (preferably).
• Strong understanding of cleaning operations and client relationship management.
• Experience with scheduling, rostering, and managing budgets.
• Experience in staff lifecycle management.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in computer systems, including rostering and reporting tools.
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations.
• Current Driver's License and ability to obtain a valid Police Check.
