Job summary

Glad Group is seeking a hands-on cleaning technician to operate floor scrubbing machines, car park sweepers and buffers at Grand Central Shopping Centre in Toowoomba. The role requires reliable, proactive individuals with strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.

Applicants with experience handling Conquest or Tennant scrubbers and knowledge of on-site systems will have an advantage. Flexible day/night shifts and full training are provided.

Qualifications

• Hands-on cleaning machinery experience is essential.
• Knowledge of commercial/retail cleaning practices is an advantage.
• Experience with ride-on and walk-behind scrubbers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate floor scrubbing machines, car park sweepers and buffers.
• Perform routine equipment checks and report faults.
• Maintain high cleaning standards for Grand Central Shopping Centre.
• Ensure safe operation of machinery and adherence to WHS procedures.
• Work independently and as part of a team to complete tasks.

Job description

With over 36 years' experience, Glad Group is positioned as a leader in the delivery of integrated propertyservices across Australia.

We are looking for someone with proven hands-on experience operating cleaning machinery, rather than general cleaning experience alone.

The successful candidate should be proactive, reliable and capable of maintaining the high cleaning standards expected at Grand Central Shopping Centre.

What you'll be doing

As part of our team, you'll help create clean, safe and welcoming environments that make a positive difference every day. Working alongside supportive leaders and teammates, you'll take pride in delivering high presentation standards and outstanding service for our clients and communities.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Floor Scrubbing Machines: Experience operating Conquest and Tennant ride-on and walk-behind scrubbers.
• Car Park Sweeper: Ability to confidently operate car park sweeping machines.
• Buffer Machines: Experience using commercial floor buffers and polishing equipment.
• Detailed Cleaning: Strong attention to detail, particularly in identifying and removing stubborn stains, floor marks, dirt buildup and cleaning hard-to-reach areas.
• Equipment Maintenance: Ability to conduct daily machinery checks, basic maintenance and report equipment faults.
• Workplace Safety: Good understanding of safe machinery operation, chemical handling and WHS procedures.
• Reliability: Ability to work independently, follow instructions and complete assigned tasks to a high standard.

What we are looking for

Strong cleaning machinery operation skills (advantage)

Knowledge of commercial and retail cleaning practices (advantage)

Machine operations experience such as scrubber, buffer or sweeper (advantage)

Available to work during day and night

Experience working as a team player

Excellent presentation always, and excellent communication skills

Experience in customer service

Basic computer literacy skills to use onsite systems for signing in and out, and reporting.
