Job summary

Surfside Primary School in Ocean Grove is seeking a Classroom Teacher for a 6-month allocation in 2027. The successful applicant will deliver high-quality literacy and numeracy programs, plan lessons with MTSS in mind, and monitor student progress through data-informed practice.

The role requires collaborative planning with colleagues and engagement with families to support student wellbeing and achievement.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of curriculum delivery and literacy/numeracy integration.
• Experience planning using high impact teaching strategies.
• Ability to monitor student learning and use data to inform practice.
• Understanding of MTSS and tiered supports for diverse learners.
• Strong communication with students, families, and colleagues.
• Commitment to ongoing professional learning and reflective practice.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups and individuals to meet learning outcomes.
• Plan, implement and evaluate instructional programs aligned to the curriculum.
• Use data to inform teaching and communicate progress to families.
• Collaborate with staff to develop and refine school policies and practices.
• Support MTSS framework and provide targeted instructional strategies.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings and school-wide activities.
