Job summary

St Therese School in Victoria is seeking a Classroom Teacher for a 1.0 FTE fixed term. The position is full-time and closes on 1 October 2026.

The successful applicant will contribute to the Catholic ethos, uphold child safety standards, and engage students through evidence-informed teaching and PBL, in collaboration with families and staff. Applicants must be registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and may need accreditation to teach Religious Education.

• Commitment to child safety and wellbeing and the Staff Code of Conduct.
• Knowledge and use of evidence-informed practice, including explicit teaching, aligned with MACS Vision for Instruction.
• Ability to use assessment and data to inform teaching, differentiate learning and maintain high expectations.
• Ability to create calm, positive and engaging learning environments with Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL).
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate positively with students, families and the wider school community.

Role Description

Selection Criteria – Successful applicants will be expected to demonstrate:

• commitment to the Catholic ethos, mission, vision and values of St Therese Catholic Primary School
• commitment to child safety and wellbeing and the St Therese Staff Code of Conduct
• knowledge and use of evidence-informed practice, including direct and explicit teaching, aligned with the MACS Vision for Instruction
• ability to use assessment and data to inform teaching, differentiate learning and maintain high expectations for all students
• ability to create calm, positive and engaging learning environments, with an understanding of Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL)
• ability to work collaboratively and communicate positively and effectively with students, colleagues, families and the wider school community.

Special Requirements:

• preference that candidates hold accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic School or at least demonstrate a commitment to obtain this accreditation.
• current Victorian Institute of Teaching registration (including provisional registration)
• applicants at any experience level, including graduates, are welcome to apply
