Job summary

St Francis Xavier College in Canberra invites applications for an English Coordinator. The role provides staff and student support in teaching and learning, promotes aspirational practice, and aligns with the College's mission 'Living the truth, leading with courage, learning for life'.

The successful candidate will bring curriculum leadership, initiative and integrity, oversee junior and senior studies, and work within the Curriculum Leadership team reporting to the Assistant Principal

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Teaching or Master of Teaching.
• WWVP clearance.
• ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) registration.
• Accreditation in accordance with Work Teach and Lead in Catholic Education Canberra and Goulburn policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide staff and student support and advice in teaching and learning.
• Lead curriculum, teaching and learning in junior and senior studies with best practice from current research.
• Report to the Assistant Principal Curriculum and Innovation and Teaching and Learning, and to the Principal in realising the College's vision and mission.

About the Role

The English Coordinator plays a vital role in the College by providing staff and student support and advice in teaching and learning and creating an environment where teaching and learning are aspirational. The College is seeking a person who is committed to the vision of the College ‘Living the truth, leading with courage, learning for life’ and is invested in and will promote the mission of Catholic Education.

The successful applicant will be an experienced educator, will have demonstrated successful experience in curriculum leadership and will possess initiative, integrity and vision. The Coordinator will provide expert leadership in curriculum, teaching and learning in junior and senior studies, utilising best practice in current research, evidence and innovation to meet the needs of all learners. As a member of the Curriculum Leadership team, the Coordinator will report to the Assistant Principal Curriculum and Innovation and Teaching and Learning, and to the Principal in realising the vision and mission of the College.
