Job summary

Xavier Catholic College, Ballina invites applications for a part-time Classroom and Learning Support role. The position is temporary and requires 60 hours per fortnight, with duties during term time from Monday to Friday.

The successful candidate will support students with special needs, including those on the autistic spectrum, and work collaboratively with teachers to implement and document progress of individual or small group programs. Commencement is 28 January 2027.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid NSW Working with Children Check.
• Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead Policy upon appointment.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of Catholic ethos and mission of the school.
• Work with children with special needs, including autism.
• Be aware of needs of students with diagnosed allergies and trained in EpiPen use.
• Ability to implement programs and document progress for individuals or small groups.
• Be prepared to undergo further training for aiding children with special needs.
• Collaborate with teaching staff in a classroom environment.

Applicants Must Be Able To Demonstrate The Following Criteria

• preparedness to undergo further training in aiding children with special needs
