Job summary

StateCover is seeking a Claims Business Analyst to join the Claims team on a 12-month maximum term contract in Sydney. You will support effective management of the claims portfolio through insights, analysis and continuous improvement, partnering with claims leaders and operations to drive better outcomes for Members and injured workers.

You will use data to identify trends, monitor performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy across the claims function,

Qualifications

• Experience as a business analyst or in reporting, claims support or operational improvement.
• Ability to use data to drive operational decisions and identify trends.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills; advanced Excel and BI tools exposure.

The Role

We're looking for a Claims Business Analyst to join our Claims team on a 12-month maximum term contract. This role plays an important part in supporting the effective management of our claims portfolio through insight, analysis and continuous improvement. Working closely with claims leaders and operational teams, you'll help identify emerging risks, monitor performance, strengthen controls and support better outcomes for our Members and their injured workers.

You'll use operational data and business insights to identify trends, exceptions and opportunities for improvement across the claims portfolio. Partnering with claims management, quality assurance and continuous improvement teams, you'll help monitor performance, support decision-making and ensure issues are identified and addressed before they impact claims outcomes.

You'll also support system-related initiatives, including troubleshooting, user support, reporting requirements and process improvements. From system enhancements to technology-enabled projects, you'll help identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, strengthen user experience and enhance the quality and consistency of our claims operations.

It's a role that combines analysis, problem-solving and business partnering. You'll work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to turn operational information into practical actions that improve performance, strengthen compliance and support StateCover's distinctive claims model.

About You

You'll bring experience in a business analyst, reporting, claims support or operational improvement role, ideally within workers compensation, insurance or another regulated environment. You understand how data can be used to support operational decision-making, identify emerging risks and improve business performance.

You're naturally curious and enjoy investigating issues, identifying trends and uncovering opportunities to improve the way work gets done. Whether analysing claims performance, reviewing operational processes or supporting system improvements, you're able to connect the dots and translate information into practical recommendations that deliver tangible outcomes.

You'll be a collaborative business partner who builds strong relationships across teams and communicates confidently with a range of stakeholders. You can balance competing priorities, think critically, challenge constructively and work through problems to find effective solutions.

You'll also bring strong analytical and reporting skills, including advanced Excel capabilities and exposure to reporting or business intelligence tools. Experience in workers compensation, claims operations or a specialised insurance environment would be highly regarded, as would relevant tertiary qualifications.
