Job summary

Inner West Council invites applications for the Civil Works Manager to lead the delivery of essential infrastructure services across roads, drainage, footpaths, stormwater, signage, lighting and related assets.

You will manage a team of about 60 staff, drive service excellence and major maintenance programs, oversee budgets and contractors, and influence strategic decisions with executive leaders and stakeholders for sustainable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in civil engineering, asset management or other appropriate discipline recognised by relevant Australian professional institute.
• Comprehensive experience and demonstrated ability in leading & motivating teams in the successful delivery of infrastructure works and services.
• Highly developed service delivery, project management, procurement and contract management skills.
• Current NSW Class C Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of essential infrastructure services across roads, drainage, footpaths, stormwater, signage, lighting and related assets.
• Drive service excellence, manage significant operational budgets, oversee contractors and major maintenance programs.
• Shape operational strategies, managing risk and delivering community-focused outcomes.
• Foster a high-performing, safety-focused culture and work with executive leaders and stakeholders.
