Inner West Council is seeking a Senior Civil Works Manager to lead the delivery of essential infrastructure services across roads, drainage, and related assets. You'll manage a ~60-member team, budgets, and contractors to ensure high standards of service and safety for the community.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Operations, this role shapes strategic direction and drives continuous improvement in a complex operational environment within the Inner West NSW.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in civil engineering, asset management or other appropriate discipline recognised by relevant Australian professional institute.
• Comprehensive experience and demonstrated ability in leading & motivating teams in the successful delivery of infrastructure works and services with the capacity to inspire and support innovative thinking.
• Highly developed service delivery, project management, procurement and contract management skills successfully utilised in delivering civil infrastructure works and services.
• Current NSW Class C Driver’s License.

Responsabilités

• Lead the strategic planning, financial management and operational delivery of civil maintenance and construction programs across roads, drainage, footpaths, stormwater, signage, lighting and related infrastructure assets.
• Direct a team of approximately 60 staff through six direct reports and drive service excellence while managing significant operational budgets.
• Oversee contractors and major maintenance programs to ensure sustainable service levels for infrastructure assets.
• Shape operational strategies, manage risk and foster a high-performing, safety-focused culture.
• Collaborate with executive leaders, Councillors and government agencies to deliver innovative, sustainable infrastructure solutions.
