Job summary

Waverley Council in Sydney, NSW, is seeking a Team Leader, Multi Skilled – Civil to lead a hands-on civil maintenance team. You will supervise staff, coordinate resources and deliver roads, footpaths, kerbs and drainage works to a high standard.

This permanent full-time role offers early start hours, on-site parking and a supportive workplace focused on safety, development and community service. Applicants must have leadership experience and a White Card, with a current HR licence preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership and performance management experience.
• Physically fit with ability to manual handle.
• HR Driver's Licence or willing to obtain within six months.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the public.
• Experience mentoring and motivating staff.
• Competent in computer apps including Outlook and MS Office.
• Current WHS General Construction Induction card (white) or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and support a team of multi-skilled civil staff in the delivery of day-to-day civil maintenance and construction works.
• Plan, coordinate and allocate resources, plant, equipment and materials to ensure works are delivered efficiently and safely
• Undertake and oversee civil works including roads, footpaths, kerbs, draining, paving and other public infrastructure
• Monitor work quality, productivity and compliance with Council standards, procedures, WHS and environmental requirements
• Provide hands on technical guidance and support to the team, resolving operational issues as they arise.
• Coordinate works with internal teams, contractors and stakeholders to ensure projectsand maintenance activities are delivered on time and to a high standard
