Waverley Council is seeking a Lead Multi-Skilled Civil Team Member on a permanent full-time basis. You will lead a civil team, plan crews, provide hands-on support and coordinate works across public infrastructure in Sydney’s area.

The role emphasises safety, quality and collaboration, with a 38-hour work week, access to development opportunities and a strong community focus within a values-driven public service.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead, mentor and performance-manage staff.
• Practical multi-skilled civil maintenance or construction experience.
• Demonstrated capability to plan, coordinate and execute road, footpath and drainage works.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and support a multi-skilled civil team.
• Plan and allocate crews, plant, equipment and materials.
• Deliver and oversee roads, footpaths, kerbs, drainage and paving works.
• Monitor work quality, productivity, WHS and environmental requirements.
• Coordinate delivery with Council teams, contractors and stakeholders.

Job description

This permanent full-time role combines hands-on technical support, team leadership and daily operational coordination. This position is internally referred to as a Multi-Skilled, Team Member – Civil.

Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, guide and performance-manage staff.
• Practical multi-skilled civil maintenance or construction experience.
• HR driver licence, or willingness to obtain within six months.
• White Card, or willingness to obtain on commencement.
• Fit for manual handling; clear communication and confident Office/Outlook use.
