Job summary

HPS Contractors in Cairns is seeking a skilled Roller Operator / All Rounder to join on a casual basis. Based in Cairns, you will operate rollers, assist with earthmoving tasks, and may drive water or tip trucks on varied civil projects.

The role requires a current LR licence and safety focus; HR licence and GPS experience are highly desirable. You will work closely with supervisors to meet timelines while upholding high safety standards.

Qualifications

• Current Heavy Equipment Operator's Licence (Class LR or equivalent) or state-based licence
• Experience operating Rollers on civil construction sites
• Ability to interpret site plans and instructions from supervisors
• Safety-focused with knowledge of site protocols

Responsibilities

• Operate rollers and other heavy machinery safely and efficiently on civil sites
• Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks
• Coordinate with site supervisors to meet project timelines
• Follow health and safety regulations and wear PPE
• Assist with site tasks and excavation support as required
• Maintain accurate records of operations and activities
