Job summary

NQ Estimating & Civil Services is seeking experienced Grader, Roller and Water Truck Operators to join our team on a casual basis in Cairns, QLD. This hands-on role involves operating heavy plant and machinery to support civil construction projects across Far North Queensland.

You will perform pre-start checks, follow safety protocols, liaise with site supervisors and maintain accurate records of hours. Flexibility and reliability are essential for ongoing engagement.

Qualifications

Operate graders, rollers and water trucks according to project requirements.
Must be able to perform daily pre‑start checks and routine maintenance.
Strong safety focus and ability to work with site supervision.

Responsibilities

Operate graders, rollers and water trucks in accordance with site specifications and project requirements
Maintain equipment in good working condition and perform routine pre-start checks
Ensure all work is completed to required standards and safety specifications
Follow site safety protocols and comply with legislation and regulations
Communicate with site supervisors and team members to coordinate operations
Maintain accurate records of work completed and hours operated
Respond promptly to work calls and maintain reliability as a casual operator
Undertake other duties to support project delivery
