Job summary

NQ Estimating & Civil Services is seeking experienced Grader, Roller and Water Truck Operators to join our team on a casual basis in Cairns, QLD. This hands-on role involves operating heavy plant and machinery to support civil construction projects across Far North Queensland.

You will perform pre-start checks, follow safety protocols, liaise with site supervisors and maintain accurate records of hours. Flexibility and reliability are essential for ongoing engagement.

Job description

NQ Estimating & Civil Services is seeking experienced Grader, Roller and Water Truck Operators to join our team on a casual basis. This is a hands‑on operational role based in Cairns, QLD, where you will be responsible for operating heavy plant and machinery to support our civil construction projects. As a casual operator, you will have flexibility in your work schedule whilst contributing to the successful completion of infrastructure and construction works across the region.

Key responsibilities

Operate graders, rollers and water trucks in accordance with site specifications and project requirements

Maintain equipment in good working condition and perform routine pre-start and post-operation checks

Ensure all work is completed to the required standards and safety specifications

Follow all site safety protocols and work in compliance with relevant legislation and regulations

Communicate effectively with site supervisors and other team members to coordinate operations

Maintain accurate records of work completed and hours operated

Respond promptly to work calls and maintain reliability as a casual operator

Undertake any other duties as required to support project delivery
